Former Nighthawk Nate Isler Selected By New York Mets in 2026 MLB Draft
The Dartmouth College pitcher spent the 2025 season with the Nighthawks.
The New York Mets selected former Upper Valley Nighthawks pitcher Nate Isler in the 10th round, 386th overall, of the 2026 MLB Draft on Sunday.
Isler, who spent three years at Dartmouth College, will stay on the East Coast to begin his professional career.
The right-hander appeared in four games for the 2025 Nighthawks, starting three. Posting a stellar 2.93 ERA, Isler showed a propensity for missing bats while striking out over a batter per inning and walking just five batters in 15 1/3 frames.
Isler was already well acquainted with the Upper Valley by that point, having spent the two springs prior at Dartmouth College before making the ten minute drive over to the Maxfield Sports Complex last summer.
The 21-year-old pitched to a 4.98 ERA this past spring at Dartmouth, continuing to show plus-strikeout ability by sitting down 80 batters on strikes in 65 innings of work across 11 starts. Isler’s performance earned an All-Ivy League Honorable Mention.
Isler began this summer pitching for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League, where he has appeared in three contests.
